❓ FAQ

Q: What image formats are supported?
Input: JPG, PNG, HEIC
Output: JPG, PNG, HEIC
All three formats can be converted to any other format freely.
Q: What resolutions are supported?
Custom resolution: 1×1 to 16000×16000 pixels
Max output: 16000×16000 pixels
Covers everything from social media thumbnails to professional print.
Q: What are the two scaling modes?
Fill: Crops the image to exactly fill the target dimensions. Best for social media covers, banners, and e-commerce product images where a specific aspect ratio is required.

Aspect Fit: Scales the image to fit within the target dimensions while preserving the original aspect ratio. Best for product display, portfolios, and any case where the full image must be visible.
Q: How fast is the processing?
With Metal GPU acceleration enabled (automatic on all modern Macs):
  • Export 10 × 4K images: under 3 seconds
  • 1K → 4K upscale: ~50ms per image
  • Batch 10,000 images: UI stays fully responsive throughout
Speed depends on your Mac's GPU, image size, and output resolution.
Q: How do I convert HEIC photos from iPhone to JPG?
  1. Drag your HEIC photos (or the folder containing them) into the app
  2. Click "Select All" or choose specific photos
  3. Set output format to JPG and adjust quality as needed
  4. Click Export and choose your output folder
All HEIC files will be converted to JPG, ready to share with anyone on any platform.
Q: How do I batch process an entire folder?
Simply drag the entire folder into the app's album area. The app will automatically scan all subfolders recursively and import every supported image. You can then select all and export in one go.
Q: What output quality should I choose?
  • 90–100%: Professional photography, print, archiving
  • 70–85%: Web use, social media — good balance of quality and file size
  • 50–65%: Email attachments, messaging — smaller files
  • 10–45%: Thumbnails, previews — smallest file size
Note: PNG format is always lossless regardless of the quality setting.
Q: Is the app safe? Does it collect my data?
Yes, completely safe. Pixel Forge - Studio:
  • Runs in macOS App Sandbox — isolated from the rest of your system
  • Does not collect any user data
  • Does not connect to any network servers
  • All processing is done locally on your Mac
  • Your images never leave your device

System Requirements: macOS 12.7.6 or later
Supported Chips: Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4 series) and Intel chips
Hardware Acceleration: Metal GPU acceleration is automatically enabled on all supported Macs — no configuration needed.
Q: What if the export fails?
Please check:
  • The output directory has write permissions
  • Sufficient disk space is available
  • The source image files are not corrupted
  • The target resolution is within the supported range (1×1 to 16000×16000)
