Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What formats are supported?

Compression: ZIP, TAR.GZ

Extraction: ZIP, TAR.GZ

Q: How does unified password work?

When you enable "Separate Compression" and enter a password, each file is compressed into a separate archive, but all archives use the same password. This saves time compared to setting passwords individually.

Q: Can I compress files into one archive?

Yes! Disable the "Separate Compression" switch, and all files will be compressed into a single archive.

Q: What if archives have different passwords?

The app will extract archives with the correct password and skip those with wrong passwords. You can then enter a different password for the remaining archives.

Q: Does the app require internet?

No! All operations are performed locally on your Mac. No internet connection required.

Q: Where are my passwords stored?

Passwords are NEVER stored. They are only used in memory during compression/extraction and cleared immediately after.

Q: Which compression level should I use?

Q: Can I use the secure password generator?

Yes! Click the password generator icon to create a strong random password. Click to copy and use it for encryption.

Problem: Can't find output files

Solution: Check the output directory you selected. The app saves files exactly where you choose.
